Once upon a time so long ago, there was a smile,
A smile so full of warmth, you felt the urge to stay awhile,
This smile was on a little girl's face,
And this smile could make anyone forget their disgrace,
Many people with broken hearts and lives,
Depended on this smile in order to deal with themselves and survive.
But what would happen then,
If that little girl never smiled again?

One day, this little girl, lost everything she held dear,
Her friends, family, home, and everything that would give her cheer,
That happy glowing smile that was always planted on her face,
Had turned into a frown, which was a total waste.
The little girl felt so down,
She decided to find comfort by wandering through the town.

On her journey, she passed through a tree,
Who began to cry out and suddenly plea,
"Why little girl, what has happened to your smile?
It made the leaves forget about the lumberjacks so vile,
They would try to imitate your smile by curling their bodies,
But it would never be as warm as yours, as anyone agrees."
The little girl than answered without a trace of emotion,
"Why, I've lost my smile and I have lost all devotion.
Now I ask you dear leaves, would you smile too,
If you didn't have your friends growing and just being near you?"
The leaves began to weep and one by one, they fell,
Onto the ground, and to their graves, where they will forever dwell.

The little girl continued walking on the path,
And only stopped when she heard a strong wrath,
It was the waves, greeting her as they always do,
But suddenly stopped when her smile was way-past due,
The waves began to quiver and say,
"Little girl, what has stalled your smile, today?
Your smile helps us forget about our lost wave friends behind,
For they are too slow, and we can never be combined."
The little girl tried to smile by staring at the wave's majestic beauty,
Yet the sadness inside of her stopped her from her smiling duty.
So, she said, "Why, majestic waves, I've lost my smile today,
Would you smile too, if there was no one waiting for you at the bay?"
The waves couldn't stand this little girl and not being comforted,
They became fiercer, hoping it will help these emotions get sorted.

The little girl knew she couldn't help the waves, so she left,
Trying to find something that herself could have some benefit.
As she was thinking this, she felt a strong breeze,
And heard a voice on the break of a sneeze,
"Well, hello little girl, I see you are troubled today,
For I don't see a smile and you seemed to be astray,
Now, why don't you smile, since it sets me at ease!
For it calms me down so I won't be angry and cause a stormy breeze!
Without your smile, I remember my loneliness and constant pain,
How I wander this earth, looking for a friend, but all this effort in vain."
"Why, I've lost my smile, calm gentle wind," answered the girl.
"But how would you feel if you didn't feel free, free to whirl?
You had people who expected you to always have a smile,
When you, yourself, couldn't find anything worth-while,
Gentle breeze, you can travel and be so free!
Something this little girl is willing to pay any fee!"
Instead of feeling thankful as the gentle wind should,
He felt all his loneliness and flew away as fast as he could.

So he fled from the little girl, leaving her all alone,
And the little girl began to cry sad, sad tears and moan,
"Why can't this little girl who always has a smile,
Have a reason to smile this warm smile, even just for a little while,
The tree and its leaves, the waves, and the wind,
Need me and this smile, on which they depend,
Yet I don't think I really truly had a reason for this smile on my face,
So must I continue to live a lie and fake happiness?  Is this truly the case?!"
Then suddenly, the little girl heard a loud booming voice,
Saying, "Sweet, sweet little girl without a smile, you do have a choice!
Accept me, your Lord God, and I can fill you with something so wonderfully bliss,
You won't need to fake a smile, for any sort of sadness I shall dismiss,
I will give you true happiness and that would be the reason,
For a smile on your face that will stick through every season."

The little girl knew that what the voice spoke was true,
For in that moment she felt something unknown and new,
She looked at the sky, and everywhere around her too,
The wind, leaves, and waves noticed something about the little girl,
That caused the leaves to curl, the waves to be gentle, and the wind to twirl,
That little girl without a smile…. No longer had a frown,
Instead she prayed to God, and had it turned upside-down.
This is a poem I wrote just cuz I felt inspired to do so. I can sort of connect to this poem, cuz when I'm down, I rlly don't like showing it, cuz i Know some ppl rlly rely on my smiling face to make themselves feel better.

So... ya. I hope u guys can feel like you can relate to it!

I also do not own that image! I found it here: [link] so i'm not taking credit for it. XD
